We Can Work It Out! is designed to help teachers introduce students to some simple techniques for resolving conflicts, and to raise awareness among students that they can avoid many situations which could cause them to become involved in conflicts.
The program features a video which presents short, realistic vignettes which depict children in various conflict situations. In each situation, the children learn the importance of verbalizing their feelings and trying to understand the other child’s point of view; the result is always a nonviolent resolution of the conflict. Upbeat music accompanies the action, and an on-screen storyteller introduces each section and sums up the main points at the end.
