Bushmeat is used to describe the hunting of wild animals killed for commercial purposes. In the rainforests of Cameroon huge numbers of gorillas and chimpanzees have lived undisturbed since before the last Ice Age. Now they are in danger of becoming eaten into extinction.
Africans have traditionally subsisted on animals or “bushmeat” in the forests, taking only what they needed to live. But now, this practice has turned into a booming commercial trade that is decimating endangered species.
